Inhouse Consultant, Merck Inhouse Consulting

My Job as Inhouse Consultant:

I joined Merck Inhouse Consulting in January 2018. As an Inhouse Consultant I work on projects across the organization, for all our three Business Units – Healthcare, Life Science, Performance Materials – and Group Functions in various functions and disciplines

My daily challenges:

We usually have at least two projects at the same time. Considering the variety of topics and departments we serve, it is often challenging to balance both projects and get into the sometimes highly diverse topics. It is not uncommon that we for example deal with supply chain topics in Healthcare and at the same time create a segment strategy for one of our Life Science customers. I highly enjoy this agile, flexible, and diversified way of working and am always looking forward to these new challenges.

Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:

I like working as an Inhouse Consultant because I have the chance to work on so many different topics, learn from my colleagues with diverse backgrounds, get to know the company from different perspectives in detail, and am still able to enjoy private life alongside business life.

What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:

The variety of topics, the flexibility of my work, and the brilliant people I work with.

My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:

During my studies in Business Administration, I already completed several internships in Marketing, Communications, Brand and Product Management. I then decided to join a consultancy to get a broader perspective of organizations and their challenges and jointly work on solutions to these challenges. So, before joining Inhouse Consulting, I worked for Accenture Management Consulting, mainly for Consumer Goods & Services on Digital Transformation, Innovation and Marketing and Sales projects.

What I like to do in my spare time:

In my spare time I spend a lot of time with family and friends, being outside and enjoying life with good food (and sometimes good wine…)
