Graduate Inhouse Consulting – German Office, Merck

My Job as Inhouse Consultant:

As Graduate Consultants at Merck Inhouse Consulting, we’re constantly working on the most relevant topics for Merck by executing workstreams, supporting more senior colleagues, and enabling the project team. We create value via our diverse backgrounds, varied knowledge, and broad skillsets that we use to bring both, our customers and Inhouse Consulting forward.

My daily challenges:

During my daily work, there are no “typical” challenges or responsibilities – all tasks are project-, customer- and subject-dependent, but some partially recurring activities for Graduates include: Quantitative and qualitative analysis, stakeholder & project management, research & interview conduction and insight generation & communication.

Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:

Firstly, the diverse business sectors allow for a multitude of different insights over the course of the Graduate program. Secondly, our program’s flexibility fits our own individual development path and is highly adaptable, including the station and project selection. Lastly, from the very beginning I had the feeling to be valued and appreciated on a personal and professional level – this never changed and continues to motivate me.

What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:

What makes me get up in the morning to work for IC is first and foremost to make a tangible impact in sectors, which in turn impact the lives of millions of people. Our projects drive critical areas of our business, making a personally visible positive contribution for our global wellbeing through science. And in working on those projects, I particularly enjoy the unique positioning of being a colleague and consultant combined.

My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:

Pure business background by studies: Studies in International Management in Germany, China, Portugal, France. Internship experience includes Consulting at PwC, Bayer, and Product Management at Bosch Software Innovation.

What I like to do in my spare time:

In my free time I like to cook, read and play the guitar. Whenever I have the opportunity, I further like to get in touch with other cultures and languages e.g. I’m currently studying French on the side.
