Project Manager – REWE Group Inhouse Consulting
My Job as Inhouse Consultant:
I started as a consultant in the REWE Group’s Inhouse Consulting in January 2018. Challenging projects as well as the opportunity to engage in internal task forces helped me to develop quickly and become project manager in October 2020. As a project manager I have the responsibility for a project team and spend my days with thinking ahead, defining necessary work packages, helping younger colleagues with their development and keeping in constant touch with our relevant stakeholders. At the moment I work on redefining REWE’s strategic category management. Alongside I like to work for our recruiting team as we always keep searching for talented new colleagues.
My daily challenges:
Inhouse Consulting connects different departments and collaborates with experts at eye level. However, we are not classic external strategy consultants leaving right after developing a concept. Even when a project ends for us: we keep in touch with the departments and thus hear about relevant further developments.
Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:
While the tasks that I am working on are exciting and diversified, I also appreciate our great team. Even though we may work on different projects, we still interact on a regular basis. Besides work, we also go out together, e.g. for some beach volleyball in the evening or visiting one of Cologne’s typical restaurants.
What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:
The trade sector keeps changing and is one of the most exciting sectors to me. As an Inhouse Consultant I get to deal with future challenges day by day and can witness the REWE Group as a pioneer shaping important trade topics like sustainability or digitalization.
My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:
Before joining REWE Group’s Inhouse Consulting I worked for 3 years for a turnaround consultancy and helped many industrial companies coping with difficult financial situations. Before that, I got my master’s degree in business and economics.
What I like to do in my spare time:
As soon as weather allows it, I like to be outside – e.g. running in the park or enjoying a mountain bike ride in one of the nearby forests. During winter, I like warm temperatures, too. So I often travel to far away countries.
