Matthias Schiffer
Principal
My Job as Inhouse Consultant:
As a principal, I am responsible for the contribution of the CSP team to a project that is central to the transformation of Deutsche Telekom. My personal focus is particularly on the facets of transformation, in other words digital transformation. Each of my projects has broadened my personal horizon and at the same time given me the opportunity to make important contributions to transformation progress with my own impulses.
My daily challenges:
At CSP, we always face the challenge of reflecting whether we “only” make a contribution to our direct project customers in our projects or whether this contribution is just as sustainable from a Group perspective. I often incorporate the results of the weighing process into the strategic consulting of our clients. We also see ourselves as an excellent training center for Deutsche Telekom’s future managers. Therefor one part of my work is the training of my younger project colleagues. This in turn has to be kept in balance with the respective project situation.
Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:
The answer is easy: Telecommunications is one of the central pillars for successful, value-creating digitization. I would like to play a decisive role in this. Deutsche Telekom and the CSP offer me great opportunities for this in a wide variety of projects.
What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:
Besides shaping the Digital Transformation, I particularly like the cultural aspect at CSP and Telekom. Especially in the CSP, I experience colleagues who are eager to experiment, eager to learn and always interested in the further development of all of us.
My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:
Before I started working in in-house consulting, I had already experienced various career stages. In a line function at Postbank, I was responsible for a major programme for the further development of the branch. At RWE I worked intensively on optimizing the value chain in power generation. In addition, I gained experience in an external management consultancy.
What I like to do in my spare time:
Having two children, I spend the mayor part of my free time with them. However, I enjoy going for a run near the rhine. A few times a year we pack our suitcases and go on adventure tours (e.g. with the camper through Canada).
