Lena Sturm
Project Manager at Otto Group Digital Consulting, Otto Group
My Job as Inhouse Consultant:
I am a project manager and have been working in Otto Group Digital Consulting since 2016. My area of responsibility includes the planning and implementation of strategic projects – the spectrum ranges from retail to logistics via classic holding company topics. Besides the technical leadership of consultant teams in project work, I am responsible for the disciplinary management of consultants in my department – with the aim of developing my employees into prospective leaders for the Group.
My daily challenges:
In addition to innovative growth topics, we support companies and divisions in being positioned for the future in times of digital transformation as well as for the necessary further development of existing business models. For this, it is important to familiarize oneself with new topics in the shortest possible time and to find solutions for them in a pragmatic way.
Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:
I very much appreciate the trusting relationship with our clients and enjoy every day being able to work in a highly collegial environment with highly motivated and smart colleagues.
What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:
I am enthusiastic about the diversity of my company (the Group has around 200 subsidiaries in different industries) as well as the constantly high willingness to change that has kept the company alive for decades. The work remains continuously exciting – we are in the midst of digital transformation and working methods and the culture are changing to a high degree. For years, we have been accompanying the most important topics of the Group, are very well networked and also see ourselves as direct colleagues of the customer teams. Since 2021, we classic Inhouse Consultants and our Digital Excellence colleagues have been one team. This merger has significantly increased the digital expertise in our projects.
My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:
After studying business administration (B.Sc.) at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, I worked as a consultant at Deloitte Consulting until 2013. After the excursion into external consulting, I completed my Master’s degree in Business Development at Leuphana University in Lüneburg. In the meantime, I joined tesa SE (Beiersdorf AG) in controlling and was responsible for the production controlling of a subsidiary until 2016. Finally, in 2016, I returned to the varied consulting profession – to Otto Group Digital Consulting.
What I like to do in my spare time:
I am passionate about soccer, spend a lot of time with friends and family and enjoy exploring foreign cultures (favorite travel destination: Myanmar).
