My life before joining Merck KGaA, Germany, Darmstadt Inhouse Consulting

My academic training has been primarily focused on the sciences, with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in Virology. During my graduate studies, I developed an interest in understanding the business side of science, leading to my active involvement in the graduate consulting club at my university. Following the completion of my PhD, I gained valuable experience at the Boston Consulting Group, primarily focusing on healthcare-related topics. Subsequently, I transitioned to the Inhouse Consulting team at Merck KGaA, Germany, Darmstadt, where I am currently based in our Boston office.

My motivation to join Merck KGaA, Germany, Darmstadt Inhouse Consulting

I was initially drawn to Merck KGaA, Germany, Darmstadt Inhouse Consulting due to the development opportunities it offered, and I have remained with the team because of the exceptional culture. To elaborate further, the structure of in-house consulting has exposed me to numerous clients within the organization, allowing me to expand and strengthen my professional network. Additionally, our team fosters a strong culture of mutual support, with regular interactions outside of project work, creating a friendly and supportive environment.

What I enjoy most at Merck KGaA, Germany, Darmstadt Inhouse Consulting

While I anticipated developing connections with many clients in the projects I work on, I didn't fully appreciate the extent to which we would build upon these relationships after the projects had been completed. Clients view Inhouse Consultants as colleagues within Merck KGaA, Germany, Darmstadt, and we often meet to catch up over coffee and discuss a variety of topics. It's truly exciting for me to have a network of colleagues I can engage with, support, and learn from as I continue to progress in my career.
