My life before joining DB Management Consulting

I studied Industrial Engineering at TU Darmstadt, where I concentrated on Lean Production and Industry 4.0, especially towards the end of my studies. Immediately after graduation, I joined a restructuring consultancy as a Consultant in the Operations sector, primarily supporting SMEs in turnaround situations. After four exciting years and valuable insights into various industries, I decided to join Deutsche Bahn. For nearly two years, I worked as an OPEX (Operational Excellence) Expert at Station & Service (now DB InfraGo).

My motivation to join DB Management Consulting

My main responsibility as an OPEX Expert was to implement performance management. Once this task was largely accomplished, I felt a strong desire for new challenges. I always enjoyed my work as an OPEX expert, but I wanted to acquire more knowledge about the other DB business units in order to get to know the DB Group as a whole even better. There is no better way to achieve this than through inhouse consulting, where you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a wide variety of projects across different business units.

What I enjoy most at DB Management Consulting

In line with my motivation to join DB MC, I truly appreciate the diversity of project work. Since I started in late 2022, my projects have taken me to DB Fernverkehr, DB Regio, corporate strategy, and most recently to InfraGo. Additionally, in external consulting, I have often experienced that you are always perceived as an outsider in the client's company for the entire duration of the project. In contrast, inhouse consulting fosters an environment where the client is also your colleague, creating a strong sense of belonging to the team. This leads to an appreciative and more constructive way of collaborating.
