About Bundeswehr
The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) are an essential instrument of national security and defense policy. Its primary task is national and alliance defense. The military and civilian organizational areas of the Bundeswehr are managed by the Federal Ministry of Defense.
BwConsulting. The Inhouse Consultancy of the Bundeswehr
BwConsulting is the inhouse consultancy of the German Armed Forces. We use our methodological and technical expertise to support the strategic projects of the Federal Ministry of Defense. In this way, we want to make changes possible and promote sustainable development of the entire department.
Daily Life at Bundeswehr Inhouse Consulting
As a federal company, we advise the Ministry of Defense with a focus on the three consulting areas of Strategy & Control, Processes & Organization and Project Management. In this, we combine both methodological and industry-specific expertise.
Our project work is characterised by integrated teams in which we develop and implement solutions in close and trusting cooperation with our partners in the MoD, the armed forces and the administration.
The projects can currently be categorised into five topic clusters.
National and Alliance Defence
We support the Bundeswehr in making the right preparations for crisis and defence scenarios using efficient methods – so that the armed forces and administration can act quickly if necessary.
Armament and utilisation
We support the Bundeswehr's path to cold-start capability by advising on hard skills such as project management and contributing to soft skills such as cultural development.
Digitalisation
We support the Bundeswehr in implementing a comprehensive digital strategy in order to be able to lead consistently with the right information in the right place at the right time.
Personnel and leadership
We advise the Bundeswehr on how the ambitious increase in personnel can be achieved and also provide impetus for the further development of the leadership culture.
Sustainability and climate protection
We support the Bundeswehr not only in fulfilling its core mission of ‘defense’, but also in the overall political task of sustainability and climate protection – because ecology and energy are also security-relevant issues.

Who you are

- Experienced consultants that already have several years of management consulting experience and ideally a background in relevant industries like defense or digitalization.
