Dr. Alexander Prinz

Consultant, Merck Inhouse Consulting

My Job as Inhouse Consultant:

Merck Inhouse Consulting supports projects across our business sectors Healthcare, Life Science and Performance Materials. Besides our job as a consultant, developing young talents belongs to our core objectives. Since starting as a Consultant as Merck in September 2016, I have been primarily focusing on Healthcare projects, supporting global and regional projects on innovation, corporate strategy and commercial excellence.

My daily challenges:

Managing multiple projects on a global level requires a well-balanced coordination of all tasks and workstreams to succeed. Changing project teams across different business sectors require a high level of flexibility, but also offers new opportunities and challenges every day.

Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:

In contrast to an external consultancy, Merck Inhouse Consulting allows me to gain deep insights into all business fields within the company, as well as to pursue the outcomes of our work beyond the timeframe of our projects.

What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:

Serving three different business sectors – Healthcare, Life Science and Performance Materials – Merck offers a very dynamic working environment and an opportunity to specialize myself at the same time. Beyond the variety of business fields, our cooperative team with a good mixture of young and well experienced consultants as well as a broad diversity of backgrounds offers a perfect working environment.

My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:

While working on my PhD thesis in the field of neurophysiology, working as a consultant has already been very appealing to me. Following three years as a consultant at IMS Health (QuintilesIMS) focusing on commercial excellence I joined Merck Inhouse Consulting in September 2016.

What I like to do in my spare time:

I like doing sports, travelling and reading as a perfect balance to my work.
