Michael Veeser

Project Lead, innogy Consulting GmbH

My Job as Inhouse Consultant:

As a Project Lead at innogy Consulting, I mainly work on projects related to strategy, and on cost saving and efficiency enhancing projects in various group companies. My work as a consultant is mainly focussed on transferring my knowhow across the various fields of the energy industry. My work is very varied and requires being able to think both creatively and in an analytical, abstract manner.

My daily challenges:

What motivates me about my work everyday is the challenge of working on yourself and with a client dayin dayout, and of reaching a sustainable result together. I like being faced with new issues on a daily basis, and dealing with different clients in different countries. Our projects all take place at the level of the board of directors, the CEO or divisional directors. It’s very interesting to see how often the requirements and level of ambition involved can vary from company to company.

Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:

I can be part of an ambitious team of consultants and the representative of a new generation in innogy and RWE. The RWE group is currently undergoing a profound transformation, and I can be involved in structuring this change to a certain extent. The job is very varied, and innogy Consulting is a very dynamic environment to work in.

What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:

I wanted to get to know a company in the energy sector at every step oft he energy value chain. This is allowing me to further expand my knowledge of the energy industry, and to perfectly prepare myself for a career within the group at a later stage. Finally, being offered such a diversity of projects while still being part of a major group which can also offer you other opportunities for development made it very easy for me to decide to work for innogy Consulting.

My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:

I studied economics at Hannover University. After working for over four years in an international strategy and management consultancy, I switched to innogy Consulting a few years ago. Since then, I have mainly been overseeing projects in production and networks, and crossdivisional projects.

What I like to do in my spare time:

I enjoy all kinds of sporting challenges. I play tennis, go jogging and enjoy watching football.
