Vice President (Project Manager), Deutsche Bank AG
Since early 2016 I have been working as a Vice President (Project Manager) in Group Management Consulting. Due to the breadth of our project portfolio, our tasks are very diverse. I am involved in key strategic projects, in which we develop the concepts for the future set-up of key business divisions of Deutsche Bank. As a Project Manager, I take responsibility for an entire project or a significant workstream of a project. To facilitate the problem solving process, I stay in constant contact with our internal clients. Besides project work, I am a member of the Group Management Consulting recruiting team. I conduct interviews with candidates, who are interested in joining Group Management Consulting, and represent our department at various recruiting events.
One of the biggest challenges of our work is to find an appropriate compromise between specific interests of various stakeholders. As it often happens, conceptual ideas may not be feasible during implementation. The complexity of many problems is recognized only after discussions with colleagues from the respective business areas. With our internal and fresh perspective on those problems we are able to develop solutions that meet expectations of all parties involved with a focus on implementation. Good communication skills, teamwork and a well-structured approach are key in dealing with this challenge.
I decided to join Deutsche Bank Group Management Consulting as I was impressed with the broad project portfolio. It comprises key strategic topics as well as specific implementation initiatives. This allows me to gather knowledge in numerous business divisions of the bank and develop in-depth understanding of those.
There are further advantages that I experienced in the meantime: as an Inhouse Consultant in Deutsche Bank, I am involved in key strategic projects that determine the future of the bank. Together with the project team, we work on complex analyses for – amongst others – the Management Board. This allows me to come into contact with Deutsche Bank’s senior management and therefore expand my network with the senior level. Furthermore, despite challenging project work, the relationship with the clients and colleagues is always open and cooperative.
I enjoy working at Group Management Consulting as I have the opportunity to face new challenging topics and work with different colleagues every three to six months. I also appreciate that our Leadership Team strongly supports not only professional but also personal development of each consultant.
Following my integrated degree programme – Bachelor in Business Administration and apprenticeship in banking – I finished my Master in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Management in 2014. During the Master programme, I spent an exchange semester in the US and did two internships with Deutsche Bank’s Inhouse Consulting and Group Strategy in Frankfurt. After two years in Group Strategy, I joined Group Management Consulting in 2016. The broad knowledge about Deutsche Bank that I developed in Group Strategy helps me immensely in the daily project work in Group Management Consulting.
In my spare time, I spend as much time as possible running in the mountains and in the snow with family and friends.
