My Job as Inhouse Consultant:

I started my career with Deutsche Bank Group Management Consulting as a Senior Project Manager in July 2015. My work is primarily focused on restructuring initiatives in the business divisions, i.e. development of new market strategies, organizational redesign, capacity management, as well as change management and communication. As a Director since March 2017, I am also responsible for the professional guidance and development of our consultants, as well as for the strategic positioning of our business model as Deutsche Bank’s internal management consultancy.

My daily challenges:

As a management consultant it is my job to advise Deutsche Bank’s senior management in developing their divisional strategy and support them in both effective and efficient implementation. This encompasses strategic topics on the level of DB Group as a whole and on the level of individual business divisions and infrastructure units. Finding myself usually in large scale, global projects, I very much cherish the classic consulting skills: Structuring complex challenges, identifying and refining best-in-class solution options, as well as coordinating a multitude of internal and external stakeholders. In addition, I enjoy being responsible for the career development of our consultants.

Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:

I strongly identify myself with „my “Deutsche Bank and I want to contribute to its success, our shareholders, clients, and employees. I would like my work to have a purpose and l take responsibility for the success of the projects I lead – starting with the design of solutions to their roll-out into day-to-day operations. As an Inhouse Consultant, I can realize all these expectations and gain a deeper understanding of our business models, processes, IT systems, and people. „Consulting“ can be found anywhere – but the above mentioned combination can only be found in Inhouse Consulting.

What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:

Group Management Consulting has a key role within Deutsche Bank as it works across divisions, is engaged in both strategy development and its implementation, and is highly appreciated by our senior management. The challenges we face as a part of the whole industry which is currently facing major transformation, are complex, new, and will reshape our business in its core elements. This is a great opportunity for everyone who enjoys being at the heart of transformation and driving it through as part of an excellent team.

My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:

I hold a diploma in Business Administration and focused my academic studies on services management and business informatics – a combination which I deem extremely helpful in times of increasing client-centricity, lean management, and digitization. During my internships in the sectors of financial services and IT, I learned to enjoy a consultant’s work and way of professional life. On the basis of these experiences, I started my career as an Inhouse Consultant for an European bank which took me into the strategic and project management of its corporate banking division at a later stage – of which two years were spent in Shanghai.

What I like to do in my spare time:

I relax while reading, listening to music, as well as watching movies and TV shows. Furthermore I try to expand my knowledge of Chinese / Mandarin by taking the challenge to master the HSK tests about every two years. Whenever I find the time, I also volunteer for the „Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V.” where I also spent my year of civil service. Additionally I do some sports as well.
