Jonas Dennert

Associate Partner, DHL Consulting

My Job as Inhouse Consultant:

I have been working for DHL Consulting since October 2013 mainly in the Bonn office, but I have also spent some months in our office in Singapore. In my current position as Associate Partner I am responsible for the successful execution of projects. During my time with DHL Consulting I have been working on a broad range of topics from Due Diligence to Market Entry Strategies.

My daily challenges:

My key tasks include project planning, leading project teams and serving as key contact point for the client. My daily work involves regular alignment meetings and planning sessions with my team, our client and any other stakeholders involved. A very important task is to support my team members in their development through regular coaching and feedback.
Besides my primary project work I support our recruiting team by being an interviewer and train younger colleagues.

Why I like to work as Inhouse Consultant:

Working with DHL Consulting offers me the great opportunity to work on a wide range of topics for different Business Units of one of the most international companies. It is great to work with colleagues and clients from all other the world on challenging topics.
DHL Consulting offers great development opportunities both during the time as a Consultant, but also for the time afterwards. I think there is no better way to build up a company wide network than starting a career as an Inhouse Consultant.

What I like most about being an Inhouse Consultant:

Working as an Inhouse Consultant combines the best parts of both worlds; working as a Management Consultant while on the other hand being part of an international corporation. The steep learning curve, the high degree of responsibility right from the beginning and especially the great team spirit are some of the key things I like about DHL Consulting. Supporting the actual implementation and not only the planning while working together with colleagues rather than clients is a key advantage of being an Inhouse Consultant.

My life before joining the Inhouse Consultancy:

Before joining DHL Consulting I was already working as a Consultant for an external consultancy. During that time I was working for clients from different industries mainly on due diligences and post-merger integration projects.
I studied Business administration in Mannheim with an exchange semester in Sydney.

What I like to do in my spare time:

In my spare time I like exploring new countries and cultures. Besides that I like running along the Rhine and play football with my colleagues from DHL Consulting and other parts of the Deutsche Post DHL Group.
