Senior Project Manager Research & Development
Since nearly 2 years, I have been in Bayer’s Strategy and Business Consulting team based in Leverkusen. As a Project Manager in the Research & Development (R&D) department, I enjoy leading strategic projects related to sustainability, innovation, growth strategies and digitalization of the R&D functions across Bayer’s Pharmaceutical, Crop Science and Consumer Health divisions.
As an inhouse consultant, we support our clients with strategic decision-making, defining directions and strategies (“where to play”) as well as helping with the development of realistic and reachable implementation plans (“how to win”). The Strategy & Business Consulting team is organized across the value chain; Research & Development, Product Supply, Marketing & Sales and Corporate Strategy and Business Transformation. We leverage our value chain approach by bringing ideas and concepts across Bayer’s divisions – often giving projects a head start.
Bayer’s Strategy & Business Consulting team offers a great mix of exciting and challenging projects, combined with a steep development curve and a high focus on work-life balance. Furthermore, I truly enjoy the open and constructive atmosphere among colleagues.
What I really appreciate about being in Bayer’s Strategy & Business Consulting team is to see and be aware of the impact the projects have, that I have been involved in. Additionally, it is great to follow-up with client project teams also after projects have finished, seeing how they have progressed on their journey. Beyond, contributing to meaningful projects, I enjoy working cross-departmentally on additional topics and concepts, and regularly supporting the Recruiting department in interviewing new candidates. There is the opportunity to learn so much from these various facets of the job!
Prior to joining Bayer’s Strategy & Business Consulting team, I gained experience in management consulting at EY’s Swiss Life Science Advisory office. Based out of the EY Basel office, I worked on multiple R&D and market access projects across leading biotech and Pharma companies in Europe.
I hold a MSc. in Bioscience-Engineering obtained in 2012 at KU Leuven, Belgium – with a focus on Nanoscience and technology for bio-medical applications.
In my spare time, I enjoy doing sports such as field hockey, running and hiking. I also enjoy visiting my family and friends across Europe, especially in Belgium and the Netherlands. Furthermore, I am conducting an additional Master’s degree in Global Health and Infectious Diseases (MSc from Edinburgh Biomedical Sciences – Medical School) – which keeps me up to date and well aware of the bigger healthcare ecosystem.
